Data You Give Us Directly
Information entered into a name, phone, or address form is sent to the third-party service that supplies those results. Concord Residents Directory does not keep a copy of that search. If you email the reference, the message and any details in it are visible to the people handling the reply.
Data Collected Automatically
Hosting systems may record ordinary server-log details such as an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and time stamps. Aggregate review helps maintain the pages and understand broad use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement when those services are enabled.
How the Data Is Used
Log data is used to operate the reference, diagnose faults, measure traffic, and improve the content. We do not sell a visitor list or build a personal profile from ordinary visits.
Outside Website Links
The pages link to county and state portals, libraries, archives, and third-party search services. Each outside provider controls its own collection and privacy terms. That includes the sponsored search results, which are supplied by a separate company.
Who May Receive Data
Hosting and support vendors may process server logs while keeping the pages available. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure can also occur when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, the reference does not disclose messages or log data as a routine practice.
Security and Retention
The reference uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational needs described here. There are no user accounts, passwords, or resident profiles stored by the reference for a visitor to manage.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact us so the material can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Your Data Rights
California's Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, appears in Civil Code sections 1798.100 and following. Depending on the request and the law's exceptions, covered consumers may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, limit sensitive-information use, and opt out of sale or sharing. Because the reference keeps little direct data, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by California, Contra Costa County, or Concord offices remain under the control of their custodians, so a deletion request for an official deed, court file, or roll must go to that office. The separate DELETE Act, Civil Code section 1798.99.80 and following, governs the state's data-broker deletion route.
Updates to This Policy
A revised policy will be posted here with the new wording. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the version then displayed.
